Hello, my name is Traci Tylar. I understand how important connection is in our lives – to feel fully alive and satisfied with life. Maybe you need help in reconnecting to others or yourself. I can help you find your way back to healthy and meaningful connections. I get it, emotional pain hurts – a lot, but I want you to know I’m here to help you navigate the past and present difficult and possibly traumatic experiences in your life. Maybe you are struggling with depression, anxiety, emptiness, confusion and stress. Possibly these thoughts and feelings are impacting your relationships and work. I understand and will help you. You are not alone.
Children and teens have had so many adjustments to make in their lives. Sometimes they react in anger or simply shutdown. Possibly their grades are slipping, getting into the wrong friendship groups, or pushing back with family and household expectations. I can help.
It can be uncomfortable to make the first appointment to see a therapist, but rest assured there is no judgment. You will be welcomed with sensitivity, compassion and professional guidance. I look forward to working with you by helping you to feel better and to make the reconnections again in your life that are healthier for you.
In terms of modalities, they are tailored to fit your healing process. With 17+ years of experience, I use an integrative approach that could include talk therapy, art, sand play, roleplay, mindfulness activities, body-oriented strategies, and homework to name a few. I have worked in a variety of settings from schools, residential treatment homes for boys and girls in care suffering from complex trauma, and community-based mental health centers which included both out-patient and crisis interventions at schools, hospitals, jails and nursing homes from diverse backgrounds: ethnicity, income status, age and mental health diagnosis. Regardless of where or who you are, my intention is to be fully present for you, and to help you reach the goals that you have for yourself.

I’m originally from the Northwest; however, I’ve been in the Midwest for 18 yrs and call it home. I enjoy cooking and hosting dinner parties for friends. I love interior design and strive to create warm and inviting spaces. My best 4-legged pal, Duke, and I enjoy long walks and fit in as many as we can. And to my surprise, I’ve become an NFL fan in the past 6 years. Go Kansas City Chiefs. I love science fiction books/movies and have recently started reading more historical fiction. Mornings are my favorite time of day. I enjoy quiet mornings with a steaming cup of coffee as I prepare for the day.
