Insurance Coordinator/Receptionist - Job Summary

Our private psychotherapy practice is seeking an experienced professional to work in our administrative office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a professional office or medical setting, with the skills necessary to improve our current medical billing procedures and reduce unpaid services. The successful applicant will work on a number of tasks requiring data analysis, in-depth evaluation and exercising judgement within the appropriate scope of practice. Responsibilities and Duties

Primary responsibilities are to manage reimbursement for third party payment billable services, review/submit insurance claims, and reception desk duties. Assists counseling staff with various support services. Must also have working knowledge of accounting, healthcare, and general office procedures, and have excellent communication, both verbally and in writing, with peers, supervisors, payors, clients, etc.

Qualifications and Skills

28-32 hours per week, starting at $16-18 hourly:

  • Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Excellent computer and technology skills.

  • Requires strong attention to detail and ability to obtain and record information accurately.

  • Requires conflict management skills, and time management skills.

  • Integrity and professionalism at all times.

HIGHLY DESIRED:

  • Experience with mental health office practices.

  • Associate’s degree in bookkeeping, accounting or medical billing with 1+ year relevant experience OR 2+ years of accounting/bookkeeping/third-party billing experience.

  • Experience with computerized accounting and billing systems, keyboarding and basic office software applications.

  • Experience in ICD-10 & CPT mental health coding.

  • Experience in scheduling and/or registration.
