Manhattan “Hattie” Stivers

Therapy Dog

AKC Community Canine (CGC,CGCA,CGCU)

Hi there, I'm Manhattan, the therapy dog at Summit Family Therapy, but you can call me Hattie. I have an important job of greeting all the wonderful clients who come to see their therapists. It's my mission to help them feel better, because I know that going to see a therapist can sometimes be a bit scary.

I absolutely love spreading happiness, and my absolute favorite things are cuddles, hugs, and getting my back and belly rubbed!

If you happen to meet me, it's totally okay to say "Hello!” Just make sure I'm sitting down before you give me a friendly pet. Dr. Stivers tells me that I need to practice good manners, so sitting before petting is part of that.

I love being a therapy dog, bringing smiles and comfort to everyone who needs it. See you soon! Woof woof!

Manhattan is a locally bred labradoodle. She completed the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA), and Canine Good Citizen Urban (CGCU) certifications. As a result, she’s earned the distinctive AKC title of Community Canine. We’re excited to have Manhattan on the therapy team!

Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation and almost as good for the soul as prayer.
