Hello, my name is Linda Cherry and I first studied Psychology trying to understand myself. I continued studying Psychology in order to understand myself and others. Through my own journey, I have come to believe in the healing process and I believe we are all created in a way that we can heal, even from traumas. I love helping individuals come to a deeper understanding of themselves, their history, their relationships and their life situations.
I welcome a client who is aware of being in pain but doesn’t understand what it’s about, how it got there, or how to heal the pain. One who is sick and tired of the struggle and that things never change. I know their pain isn’t hopeless nor does it have to be permanent. I have great respect for my clients who risk the vulnerability of the therapeutic process and risk both the pain and the hope of the healing process.
I am thankful that I get to witness the healing process of therapy as it evolves with clients in my work on a daily basis. I feel blessed to take part in the healing process of clients. I feel grateful to the clients who trust me to walk along with them on their journey.
If you are struggling in pain and may not understand it, if you’ve been hurt recently or a very long time ago, I invite you to call me for an appointment and see if we might be able to find some hope and relief for you together.

I have developed my clinical skills over 30 years of working with individuals, couples, families and groups. I have experience in agencies, small group practices as well as in solo private practice for over 20 years.
Personally, I absolutely love sailing and watercolor painting, but my best times are time spent with my family and grandchildren. I also volunteer with the American Red Cross in Disaster Mental Health and Reconnection Workshops for veterans and families returning from deployment. Central Illinois has been my home since 1980.
